Famous Last Words #3

Harrumph! I was half-hoping I might stump you again, but it wasn't to be. Congrats to my old pal Jason, who correctly guessed last week's entry, from Mel Brooks' classic Blazing Saddles. Good job Jason, although I'd prefer you not whip that out around here if it's all the same to you.

Here's another classic, one that should be pretty memorable for those who've seen the movie. The trick may be finding people who have. Let's take a trip in the Wayback Machine for this week's lines.

"How do you live?"
"I steal!"

Succinct and to the point, as my fifth grade teacher used to say. What movie is it from? As usual, post your answers in the comments. Good luck!

I know I haven't posted before, but I had to answer this one, "I Was A Fugative from a Chain Gang" Strangely enough, I was in love with this ending far before I knew where it came from, and in fact It frustrated me to no end.

I saw the ending on a random tv documentary and it was so beutiful and sad even without any context whatsoever. One of the best endings of the movies and more proof that Mervyn LeRoy is a terribly underrated director

Wow, that didn't take long.

But yeah, I LOVE this ending. The way he just slinks back into the shadows- goosebump time.

In addition to LeRoy being underrated, I'm also more than a little bummed that Paul Muni doesn't get more love nowadays. He was one of the first really fine screen actors to emerge after the dawn of sound, and he isn't discussed much nowadays.

Thanks for stopping by.
